The fear? Yes I’ve spoken to lots of people about that. The problem is the fear is irrational (well to some extent fear of drowning is rational) and when it comes it is really difficult to control. I know what I need to do I just haven’t been able to yet.
In terms of the leadership thing I need to look into it as the first level is possibly do-able.

Do it, do it, do it!
I totally understand the fear thing. I have it high jumping. I'm not going to hurt myself but it 'could' happen. And once a fear kicks in its hard to displace it.
But with capsizing is it like falling off a bike or a horse - good to actually do it (the falling) then you know you can survive it? Am interested!

I actually don’t understand *how* communicating with a horse works, HP. Or why they put up with it. It’s a really odd thing to be doing, when you think about it...
If you practice capsizing loads of times would that help? (I think it’s an entirely rational fear, but that’s probably not helpful!)

Ok I am formulating a plan which does involve capsizing a lot in a graded way, i.e. without spray deck, then with, then increasing how long I spend under there before I get out. I’ve started this process before but then not done it over enough sessions to really kill the fear. I am already trying to recruit a couple of club coaches to do some sessions with me.

Have you watched/ read the horse whisperer Maz? Amazing how he can take a wild unbroken horse and be riding within under an hour

My kids laughed when I told them about your horse being furloughed, Maz Behind on my writing. Stupid marking! Nearly done though
