Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I think that mine have just passed their peak. There has been no growth this week and the flower heads are looking rather sad now as the petals are wilting and the seeds are beginning to form.

Crikey! I wonder my late bloomers might end up being the tallest sunflowers standing on 15th September even though they're unlikely to get much above 2ft high.

(I don't qualify even if they are, because I planted them after March 31st.)

The only sunflower currently in bloom. Not very tall. I finally planted three more in soil - just in time to get battered with the rain. Now listing or prone.

Can one still join? I have one that is reaching 3 metres... and some self seeded ones that haven't by far reached their max yet...

Planting after the date is ok, V’rap, it’s only planting earlier that’s cheating. :-)

Hanneke - yeah , of course. The rules don't seem to have been followed by many this year. I only put them in because people couldn't cope with the fact there wasn't any at the start of last year and I was inundated with requests for rules.

They are there to be broken :-) and joining in 4 months late fits right in with that philosophy :-)

Welcome !

My current flower is generating another flower after the main one toasted itself.
