Fleecy, I literally got the whole pot of soil out in one go, planted it and as I adjusted the new stake it bent. Last year I bent one too so I was ultra careful. Good luck to you fleecy.

The seeds are I'm already. Will remember that tip for next year.

people sandpaper seeds! We could end up breeding sunflowers that produce seeds that can't germinate without human interference.

They've already had human interference , they didn't jump into the packet of their own accord ya know :-)

The scuffing just damages the protective coating enough to let the water in to begin the magic - so goes the theory
