Wheel bearings tonight. Another new maintenance thing for me, as this is cartridge bearings rather than cup and cone. Oh, and I've discovered I need to re-do the pivot bearings as I forgot to put a part back (!) which I discovered lying around yesterday. Oops. Maybe this is why local bike shops are a good idea

At least cartridge bearings are nice and easy and feel so good afterwards

Yes, in the end pretty easy to do as the pressfit wasn't as tight as I'd expected. The only faffy bit was the combination of washers, pins and circlips that mavic use to keep the bearing in its place. But definitely much easier to manage than cup and cone, which I suspect are a doddle when you've done 10-15 of them and you know how to setup the right amount of play based on experience, but when I've tried to service them I've found a lot of trial and error was needed to get things spinning freely.
No doubt he'll find something else to break on the bike soon enough, but all back up and running now anyway!

Oh, god, Mavic. No, they remain faffy no matter how many you do. And just when you get used to them they change the design, make the parts obsolete and then have no idea what you need when you ring their tech centre. Don't have a great deal of respect for Mavic from that point of view. Or any point of view really. Any manufacturer who makes stuff difficult for customers after sale needs beating over the head with their own product.

Exciting stuff, Nick
I am still dithering over tomorrow. Can’t decide whether to go or not.

My feet don't fit Mavic shoes but I did use to like their helmets. I've had mixed experiences with the wheels.
Tried to order a Sram GX AXS groupset through Wiggle yesterday, even had the in-stock alert e-mail set. By the time I realised I had the e-mail it was out of Stock again in about 30 minutes. So in the end I noticed they had a GX rear mech and an Eagle AXS shifter in stock so ordered that and the charger from Sigma Sports. Didn't know the battery doesn't come with the rear mech but luckily local bike shop has a battery in stock and I still have £10 credit to use up there.
