The Doctor K Cup

The seventh annual Doctor K Cup will take place on Saturday October 19th 2024
All you need is a GPS watch or app. On the day, RUN AT LEAST 5K WITHOUT LOOKING AT YOUR WATCH. The Fetch Benchmark system will pull out your fastest 5k from your run (so you can include it as part of your long run if you like). The person who gets closest to their prediction will be declared the winner (though the judges decision is final!).
It would be lovely if you could upload your 'K' pics to the gallery (make a K shape with your fingers) to help us remember Doctor K and all the Fetchies we have lost.
NB A GPS watch reporting 5.00km will do so from 4995 metres onwards, but you MUST run at least 5000 metres or more. To avoid disappointment add an extra 10 seconds on to the end of your run, just to make sure.
How to join in
Firstly, add the 2024 Doctor K Cup to your Fetch portfolio. All you need is a GPS watch or app. On the day, RUN AT LEAST 5K WITHOUT LOOKING AT YOUR WATCH. The date is the 7th - I've fixed the typo in the header now, sorry. Not likely that mine will be at parkrun. The date coincides with a big birthday in our household, so I will have to take my chances when they come. |

I was amazed at some people's accuracy. I set mine as a season's best type time on the basis that I could accidentally be much quicker, and when I was maybe 7 seconds slow, I thought that was pretty close. But weren't there folk within about 1 second or even dead on? !:-) G

I'm injured - 40 hours is quite accurate I usually mess things up anyway - but usually when running it. This year I've started early |

I was dead on a couple of years ago HappyG(rrr) but it was sheer fluke - the dog messed about on his walk so I had to run to Parkrun, messed all my preparations up!
