The Doctor K Cup
98 watchers
The seventh annual Doctor K Cup will take place on Saturday October 19th 2024
All you need is a GPS watch or app. On the day, RUN AT LEAST 5K WITHOUT LOOKING AT YOUR WATCH. The Fetch Benchmark system will pull out your fastest 5k from your run (so you can include it as part of your long run if you like). The person who gets closest to their prediction will be declared the winner (though the judges decision is final!).
It would be lovely if you could upload your 'K' pics to the gallery (make a K shape with your fingers) to help us remember Doctor K and all the Fetchies we have lost.
NB A GPS watch reporting 5.00km will do so from 4995 metres onwards, but you MUST run at least 5000 metres or more. To avoid disappointment add an extra 10 seconds on to the end of your run, just to make sure.

Sigh
@Sushi, there is a footnote from Fetch at the bottom of the results table: " *time extrapolated from slightly less than 5k, because Katie did big eyes at me." |

Well done to all participants, and some great pics! My injury prevented me taking part, but I did have our lost Fetchies in mind today. What an amazing community where hundreds of “strangers” can come together to remember other “strangers” with whom we shared a common interest. Very proud to be a Fetchie today. |

Sushi.
Ah. I did miss the post about running a bit further to allow for gps dropout (or something) till after I’d run. Guess I’d have been even closer than 6 secs of I’d run a few steps further. Lol |

Helegant
Not quite sure that I've done this properly. I added to my portfolio with an optimistic prediction, then went out for a run/walk (well, mostly walk) in the rain and I've uploaded that to my training log. As it was dark and wet I had no idea of distance or time so have gone a bit over the distance. Do I need to do anything else?
