We just walked up the poshest road in Stratford. 4 houses with flags but otherwise a big fat nothingburger. I’m still struggling to compute why we need another bank holiday in May when the Coronation is on a weekend anyway.

Our wee town is full of bunting and flags.

I'd say 30-40% of the houses along the road through Wensleydale just now have some kind of bunting or flags on display.

Devizes and surrounding villages seem to be going for it in a big way, from public screenings to street parties and everything in between. I assume being a Tory stronghold in a heavily military area has something to do with it.

I am going to stay away from our town, trip to Harlow for parkrun and Fetch meet up, if the weather isn’t too bad in the afternoon I may well do the same as Diogenes and jet wash the patio.

I shall be wearing my #NotMyKing t-shirt whilst standing on the touchline watching my daughter play football.

Seems like the right time for it.

Well, I shall be parked in front of the TV all day and will hopefully see WW’s sister and BIL wherever they manage to get to on The Mall :-)

I did have a smile at a granny in the queue having been to the Queen’s coronation describing it as “a once in a lifetime opportunity” though.

We’re hoping to be able to watch it from Italy, if we can get good enough wifi.

About This Thread

Maintained by Muttley
So will you be waving your little union jack and pledging your allegiance and scoffing coronation chicken or quiche at a street party?

Or ignoring the whole bloated exhibition of flummery and forelock tugging to inherited privilege and finding more important things to do?

I'm in the latter camp :-)
