Well done carp and bint 😊
I have an exam today 😕🤞 I stayed up studying until 2am on Sunday evening then alarm went at 530 for my 12 1/2 shift on the ward. Felt very spaced out and very stupid for doing it but my brain just wouldn't shut down. Yesterday I changed my long shift into an early so I could come home and revise. After the exam we have booked a room for a couple of hours so we can practice our presentation that's due in two weeks (that I still need to complete!) Then we are having lunch and chilling/fretting.
Oh and I found out via another student on a different cohort that another tutor is leaving! As far as I'm aware the last one hasn't been replaced yet 😱

May sound silly - but relax and enjoy it ! It's to show what you know, not what you don't. Go smash the exam and the presentation practice.

Well exam was A LOT harder than the mock exam. I revised like crazy and on each system I was regularly getting 90-100% on all 'practice tests' on questionmark. Mock exam was pretty much the same questions as on there so I went in feeling really quite confident. Boom!! Knocked right down. My fault entirely I should've utilised my tutora also but because of the format of the previous exam and both mocks I felt I understood it to the level needed. Every single person came out of the exam looking drained and traumatised and I think because we all used the same framework to revise doh!
Anyway despite it being awful I'm still reasonably confident I have done enough to pass... 50 questions and I'm pretty confident 27 of them I nailed on the head with several others at about 70% confidence. Pass mark 40%. I really didn't want to say anything to the others as no-one else in my group feel like they have enough correct answers to get the 'pass'.
We had the room booked for practice but ended up just checking visually that the background colour was good and font size etc. Everyone's presentation seems to be of better quality and progressed further than mine so really need to kick myself up the arse. Maybe it's a case of grass being greener or me being hard on myself I guess I'll find out soon 🤷♀️.
Spoke to a tutor today about the 'rumour' another one is leaving and she looked visibly upset. I actually thought she was going to cry. I really feel so much for her and the other tutors they are now under even more stress than before.
A couple of people from our cohort had a meeting with the course leader after the exam and were linked into Cambridge University (we are in an attached 'unit' in Peterborough) with another tutor. They were in there for ages explaining how the course is changing and any effects on us. Basically they are changing it to a part time course (30 hours a week) to attract more people to it but the whole way its made up is changing too. I had to leave my job etc the new course you don't you get employed by the Trust and have an attached 'unit' where after completion you will work. Lots of other changes to the course itself too with ref to studying and hours to complete that seem to be a disadvantage to what we're doing.
There was a more in depth explanation given for the rest of our course in terms of what's expected study, exams, placements and signing off so I think we all feel so much better 'knowing' what is coming up.
I will feel a lot more relaxed after my presentation is done, I have put a lot of pressure on myself by leaving it so late but I will get through it 🤞
