If that’s true Dio (and I don’t doubt you) I would just call them and tell them it’s not happening and they can rearrange the 10 minute one.

Why do you need to actually go in? Can’t they do a phone call or video call? There’s a global pandemic FFS!

Exactly. It's ridiculous.

Ds2’s school won’t even let parents onto the school premises right now, I doubt they’d be wanting any face to face meetings with parents!

Uni have emailed the students. Sports etc can restart Dec 2nd (assuming lockdown lifts). Moving online from 9th December but testing and going home isn’t compulsory. The online only is frustrating but at least it will be the whole cohort.

Linds it is absolutely absurd that a parent has to attend every time a YP is sent out of class.

We've had a letter for boy2 saying he needs to isolate for 2 weeks as contact of a positive test.

He's had really low mood over the summer, and was so much better back in school, his face fell as he found out from friends about it. 😥

He and I are going to be fighting over the laptop too.

I'm proud of Billy. He came home early from college, because someone in his class has had close contact with someone in the other class, who has tested positive. This person was not wearing a mask and was v flippant about the contact, apparently. He's alerted college. I hope they do the right thing. It's so difficult with a class full of 17-20 year olds, I guess.

Any outcome from that, Linds?
Ds2 has just been told he has to do his voluntary and skills and sports bits for his bronze DofE as the expedition is going ahead early next year. He was going to volunteer at parkrun but covid happened. And the teacher running DofE at school left and nobody has taken over till now, so we didn’t think it was going to happen. Any alternative volunteering ideas? His skill was going to be some online coding course and he does tennis anyway (assuming they let him do it again) but the volunteer thing is tricky especially as some online options are for over 16s only.

Part of me thinks he should just skip bronze and do silver at 6th form college next year instead, especially as he’s very busy with GCSE work now.
