Ooooh I shall go have a look. WA thanks for your kind offer but I should probably just make my own. Mind you I will have no idea if I have achieved an authentic parkin.

:)

I have apples from my veg box and have decided I will make apple crumble on Sunday and make a small portion to drop off to QP on Monday. I am going to the West Coast for a few days and will be in FW on my way there. He loves (crimble) crumble.

I spotted daughter watching something on youtube about dopamine. She later told me that it was about addiction to social media and how it shortens attention span and makes it trickier to focus on "boring" stuff like homework - and that she was going to start restricting her time on devices.

I've not seen any evidence of her doing it yet but it was interesting that she was educating herself about it all.

Tha is for the parkin recipe. Looks simpler than the one i used which had more golden syrup than treacle. I doesn’t really look dark enough. It’s still sitting waiting to be tried!

What a morning I'm having. Was in a really difficult work call and QP was texting and calling constantly. When I finally got back to him he was totally distressed because he should have applied for his placement by today and he hasn't even got a clue where to apply to. Then it became clear that he has not been keeping on top of course work at all and everything is due today. He was in a total state over the 'phone, hyperventilating and crying. Luckily I am down his way next week on a break and so I have asked him to contact the support team to set up an appointment - I'm not sure they'll let me support him. I really want to contact the course leader but leaving him to let his tutor know he is having a meltdown and needs support to get the work done.

Oh no HP. I'm sure you know that the college will be super supportive and it can all be worked out. Get him to wherever he needs to be to request mitigating circumstances and it can all be sorted. (())
