Thanks all. I’ll look at that HappyG, it is something that bothers me, I’ve always had a good credit rating which is a comfort in case things go suddenly pear-shaped,

Something I wasn’t expecting to be doing is supporting youngest through the death of her MiL. All a bit stressful for her as her husband has been diagnosed with emphysema and severe angina (50 fags a day and still smoking ). Having gone through my own MiLs death fairly recently at least I have some tips for her, not least some of the links curated on the ‘elderly parents’ thread here.

Having been home for 13 months and had no luck finding a job QP is finally getting Universal Credit sorted. He has an appointment today which I’m supporting with as he’s likely to be quite stressed.

Appointment went ok. He needs to get a sick note or evidence that he’s spending 25 hrs per week on job hunting. It would be 35 if he didn’t have a health condition (autism).

Bit of an awkward family group chat. Eldest was handpicked for a promotion and is in role already but impact on pay & rations was TBC. He hoped for a rise as he was arguably underpaid being new in the door. This has been ongoing for a few months Youngest applied for a promotion and was interviewed on Monday and got the job today and gets a decent pay rise, now earning a chunk more than her big brother. Eldest after saying he was delighted then shared he had been told he was getting no extra money despite the extra responsibility Obviously good for them both but pretty rubbish for eldest who is not being rewarded appropriately. |
