Congrats LBM, brilliant run! An Stoosh, a pb is a pb no matter how much its by, so well done on getting that.

Postie, it will come, just keep plugging away at it, everyone has those races where they dont hit what they want and dont feel in the best shape, like me last week when I ended on 1:41. Ypou'll get back there at some point.

For me, my next half is 15th May now, pulling out of Manchester Marathon as im currently injured and cant run at all so once I restart I can train specifically for shorter distances. Maybe push forward to sub 80 :O

Well done Stoosh, great time.

I'm going to concentrate on getting back to sub 85 shape after I've run the Milton Keynes Marathon next month. I have zero expectations for myself for that race considering where I am right now!

Cheers for the congrats Stoosh! What a great time you got there yourself! Fantastic!

Postieboy - you'll rediscover that form you seek. It deserted me for a while over the half distance, but you'll get it back! Believe it!

RobertoM - Cheers for the congrats! Chuffed to bits with today :-)

Good luck everyone!

LBM - Excellent well done

Stoosh - 1 sec PB is still a PB and faster than you have ran that didtance before....

Busy weekend for me with a very hard ran/raced Parkrun at Strathclyde yesterday morning, for a 21:02 so marking a significant return to my running :-) Then today ran at a controled pace for the club at Salisbury 10m in 75:37, so its starting to come.... just need to start the training plan in April after continued base and HR....

PS - Postie, put it behind you, analyse what went wrong ands take it positivily and use it for your next race.

Lack of speed endurance if I was to put my finger on the problem so soon after today's disappointment. More tempo runs and long intervals will be in order once I get back to focusing on HM's. Their was definitely a gear missing today. Something you can only get with a decent amount of speed work.

Postie - I've had a similar experience recently, sometimes the training doesn't really come together for the race. I wouldn't rule out the next race entirely.

Check out Nell McAndrew who ran 1:21:53 at Bath Half today. Looking at Power of 10 her previous best was 1:25:11. She should be on this thread sharing her training tips!
