I reckon that's a darned good result to pull a PB out of a virus week dj!
Just missed out today at White Horse Half - awaiting race results, but looked like 1:25:05 on the clock. Garmin watching, showed 6:28 avg race pace, but you should always leave a bit of leeway I guess!

Well done Luna, just sat thinking back, enjoyed end of race, had plenty left in the tank so ran past a few,new for me and fun. Shocked when I saw the clock at 1:25 ,I really had no ideas. Garmin is going back to amazon in the morning. Anyone ran without a watch before? It's crazy having done all my training with one.

Thought I was watching this one, and wasn't, doh. Thanks dj - yes, I ran a 5 min PB at Brighton Half a few years back without a watch, just chasing and seeing how I felt. I think it let me go faster than I would have thought safe otherwise, as I'm a bit of a cautious type when I've got a watch!

Here us an alternative qestion. What marathon time cconverts to an 85 haf. I did vlm in 3:14 rekon it should hav been 3:10 and have another crack at 3:10 at edinburgh in fiur weeks. Ive found a local half two weeks after and ondering on wht time is achievable. I suspect 1:28. Any thoughts?

85 to around 3:05 I'd say, but I guess it depends on your bias. So 3:10 to 1:27/28

I ran 1:28:57 last year. I'm expecting a lot quicker off 3:09 an a 1:02:50 for 10 miles.....

I run 3.12 in London but run a 1.21 in the run-up so mara times don't help i'd say when converting lower!!
I'd have thought that a 10k time would be a better judge when it comes to estimating your predicted half time??

Finally getting back from injury. Cant imagine im anywhere near 85 pace, but im doing Keswick half on sunday as a warm up to Chester half the week after. Think il be happy with sub 90 at Chester though with the amount of training ive been doing but il be surprised if I get it to be honest. Anyone else doing Chester?
