One person's pb course may well be different to anothers...could come down to where you train.. i tend to run better on undulating courses rather than on the flat...etc etc.. I've got GNR this year so it better be fast:P

Im the same as you STOOSH, better races are on rolling / undulating courses.
May be at White Horse, but certainly not for 85 this time round... still in base and recovery mode... but not for too much longer

GNR is net downhill so long as you don;t hit it too hard through the start an the middle lumps an have strength for the last 5k I reckon it's fast. I've only done it once post baby an ran waaay faster than I thought would but I like lumpy sometimes - gives you a break

Lol smout, after your recent 10 mile outing, sub 85 will be a breeze for you.
I've only done undulating/hilly hm races. Did a pancake flat 10 mile race a couple of weeks ago and found it tough (and boring). I'm doing Brentwood HM on Sunday, which is undulating, downhill for the first couple of miles then a couple of small hills one around 5 miles and one just before 13 miles. I can't see me going sub 85 at this stage but should be capable of 87 or maybe even 86. If I don't do a marathon in the autumn, which seems quite likely at the moment, I'll have a go at sub 85 at Cardiff HM.

Hi guys,
Week on Sunday for Taunton Half. Looking forward it,so much smaller than Bath a few weeks back. More up and downs than Bath so interested to see how I get on. Totally agree, Bath, flat as it was, isnt going to be as interesting as Taunton, also,Bath is two laps were as Taunton one loop. Not a clue how I ll get on,since Bath just been running at mid 7s/ 8s. No high miles and just enjoying my running since the race. Therefore dont feel confident about Taunton, head feels tired as do my legs. Think might have 3/4 days rest next week to fresh up,good ideai before a race or keep things moving?

Good luck for Sunday DJ!
Smout, I think you're more than ready for a sub 1:25 based on your great 10 mile result. 1:23:27 according to McMillan. No pressure

Everything went wrong this week, got this Anoying virus, after third mile felt I had a temperature ,horrible, also garmin 310xt would not switch on this morning,so no times etc until the end. No idea looking back how it went, but was a PB by 10 seconds.
Hope everyone else is good. Resting this week to get rid of this nasty virus!
In peace.
