Currently my PB is 1:26:09, set 2 years ago at Pewsey Half, I did 1:26:25 there this year....
Now is the time to try and step up and get to and beat that elusive sub 85 minute barrier..... so thought that this thread would be a good idea.....
My next stab at a decent half will be Barcalona next Feb.
Currently in marathon recovery and will be just base building betwen now and christmas before some hard work starts.....

Thought I would join you here as well.
My PB was 1:26:50 for a number of years before a 1:26:07 and 1:26:04 in quick succession gave me confidence I could go faster. I then went 1:25:30ish before, 1:24:38 in June 2010 off the back off some great training which for a combination of reasons didnt deliver a marathon PB. On a perfect day, but on a course that had 2 tough hills I ran my best ever race and took over a minute off my previous best. The hilly mature of the course gave me confidence I would go faster next time out. However poor tactic saw me blow up and run 1:28 high and due to injury I havent properly raced a half since then, meaning sub 85 is a key confidence boost target for me
I wont race a half before March 2012, but sub 85 is my minimum goal

It's a hike from 88:57 but I like round numbers as targets so I'll be lurking for a while

rfj.....i need to clear less than 1 minute to do it.....so was not going to make it a goal of 2012 as i had not really ever seen this a target in the way 40min 10k was....but it makes sense....the only schedule i think works for me for this distance is a very focussed training plan mixing lots of tempo/hill/interval work and XT.....not for now....but will aim around next June for the chester half as have never done this before and would like to do something new next year.....

Count me in for this too. 1:25:46 from over 2 years ago. It's a bit of a long term goal as I'm struggling to get back to faster pace running after injury. End of 2012 to beginning of 2013 if all goes well. Good to see all of the usual suspects here too.

This is one of my primary 2012 goals; I did 01:25:28 at Bristol in 2010. I am hoping to smash this up next year, especially as I did not have a great day at Bristol and was aiming for sub 84 on the day.

Looks like a popular vote already....
Will be targeting 3 races by the looks of it at present, Barcalona as already mentioned, White Horse in April and again Pewsey Half in Aug, there may be other attempts too, but this will likely be my primary focus next year.

P.E...
I'll be in for this as well but no races until next year now. Just building base at the moment after a nightmare year with niggles/injuries/illness. Saying that my PB was well over a year ago does that mean I can't count it?

PE - You are only as good as your last race as they say, however PB an SB become more significant after injury.
