I did Chicago in October, really enjoyed it and good fast course, as was Berlin. 3 weeks gives just about enough recovery time to have a decent crack at both.

Welcome back Paul. That's annoying Chris. I'm keeping an eye on Milton Keynes in May, which is an England masters qualifier. š§ |

London will do you for that purpose, oo? You have the luxury of 8 days from London to MK with it being on the Monday. It's a pretty tricky course though with all the zigzagging up and down footpaths. If your purpose is not a time though then it ought not to matter too much. |

I'm not confident of finishing top 3 in London DT. Combo of a dodgy knee, and too many fast marathoners entering the category. MK should be much easier to qualify, not bothered about the time. Ideally I'd like to see how London goes and then decide, depending on the closing date...

I really wanted to do Chicago, but dawdled too long and missed the cut off. Perhaps next year.

I popped this on the sub 3:30 thread and I thought I'd copy to hear to see what this group thought: I saw a very brief Instagram post yesterday. It suggested setting your watch splits during a marathon to 5k. The theory being that you're not focusing too much on an individual k and that you'll get a more accurate figure over the 5k split than an individual 1k split. While in the process, giving your racing head some space from worrying too much through each k of the race. Anyone else tried this or have thoughts on it? I thought it was an interesting idea and I may have a play in training. |

GPS inaccuracies is the issue.....but not a bad idea.
