InterestingBazoaxe, thanks.
Well i guess it's no magic, its hard and consistent work, but not to much :)
I also think/know you can to alot more than you think for sure.
I think my talent might be that i'm fairly pragmatic, i don't go that much on feel, but facts, i think that helps me sometimes. :)

I think that learning to listen to your body and not rely on tech is an important skill Bowman - and it's one anyone can master.

I don't exclusively listen to my gadgets and or rely on them, but i like the input i get.
But i know people who don't use metrics and gadgets often think everyone else should benefit from that too :) We are all different, and have different needs.

On my best marathon, or maybe my only one that went ok. I listen to my body, and just kept track of where i where in according to that feeling pretty much.

On my worst Marathon, i listen to my body somewhat, but it was giving me signals i wasn't used to, so i couldn't really use my Metrics from my gadgets to adjust accordingly, or something like that :)

I use a Garmin Bowman. But I don't let it dictate how I run or race.

Job done today at Edinburgh marathon. Had an ankle injury last week and wasn’t sure if I’d make the line but through the half in 1.26, felt solid, then sun came out with a vengeance and with 4 to go the calf sniper threatening me so had to reign it in rather than kick on, but delighted with a 17 minute PB at age 52 of 2.54.01.

Well done markgall that’s great work getting that monkey off your back! Now you can decide whether you want to really push your limits at the marathon or stick to the faster stuff.
