You have come a long way Paul saying 81:35 is a load of Sh*te! It’s a very good run. We are not machines and have good days/not so good?
What was you hoping for?

That's a great run WW, don't be so hard on yourself. That 'bag of shite' beats my best half by 3 minutes :D I do know how you feel though when you are hoping for more/better.

you boys only run flat out in marathons!!
Good point Daz; was just a bit flat today, wish I’d been able to get my head in to it more. 60s faster was about where I was aiming but only managed 2 or 3 miles at the at that pace in the entire race. Not to worry. On to a decent sized Sep with no holidays or other irritations.

I'd kill for it WW! You don't need the speed yet - it will come. I had a big August but September is likely to be very low volume for me. On holiday this week with just short though hilly for me runs and planning to continue as an extreme taper into VoY so I'll be really down if I don't do well there having sacrificed my usual miles.

Still a great run WW! I'm hoping for around that time in 2 weeks at Copenhagen.
Training is going well but i'm not feeling as strong as i was on previous cycles, i did a blood test on the recommendation of my coach and he seems to think my iron levels are pretty low for a male athlete even though the testing lab marked them in the normal - optimal levels.

That’s a great time WW, don’t beat yourself up!
What’s your plan for Abingdon, sub 2:55 or you looking to go faster?

like I didn’t run fast enough Daz! 😂
Lee - I’d love to go sub 2:55 but you have to remember that I’m a crap convertor. I ran 2:58:56 at London after a 80:54 HM in a hurricane only 4 weeks before (I also ran 81:01 in a typhoon 4 weeks before that, damn weather!).
3 decent weeks now and a lot could change. 3 solid proper long runs, 3 big midweek sessions could defo make things click. 🤞

SKR; you should listen to episode 98 of the Let's Get Running Podcast. Some decent info in there about what is 'normal' for the general population is different to an athlete.
