Jda - Think I’ll skip the parkrun then!
Good job getting both pace bands, you will know early into the race which one you need to rip off! 😄 Good luck for Sunday, as I keep saying, you’ve got this! 💪🏻

Not long at all...
Lee, I'm umming and erring about parkrun tomorrow, head says don't be daft, you've obviously not fully recovered from the illness, however heart says give it a crack, even not 100% I might have improved enough to still trouble the PB. My 17:20 last year came at the start of April 2 weeks before the Sheffield half, and I'd had tomorrow pencilled in to attack 17. Like JDA I'd rather not leave it a week, but I do like a parkrun blast (and it's been ages since I properly raced one).
I'll see how I'm feeling first thing, if not feeling it I'll pace a mate to sub-19 as he's due a PB and doesn't get to run many without his kid in tow!

Why not just do a parkrun some time after the marathon? You'll probably be peak speed and itching for a blast about 4 weeks later. I dd a PB (just a course PB but still, it's a slow course) by accident the week after Mancs last year, then improved it further 4 weeks after that.

I agree with jda - parkrun PBs will wait. Bigger picture and all that. Your sub 17 parkrun won’t be much consolation if you end up ill again and below par for London.
Hope you have a safe and stress free journey jda. 2.47 pace band until half way then push on?

I’ll join the bugger picture camp brunski, no point risking an injury or a setback with the cold

Thanks all, I'll judge if after a couple miles warm up - no aches today - I won't be doing anything daft and will back off according to how I'm feeling!

LMH - another poor night and I've just printed out 2:49. Running-wise it's been the perfect taper, so I guess I will finally get to find out how important sleep and mental relaxation really is!

I'm a poor sleeper jda though it's not for want of trying, and I'm sure your focus will all be on the race once you're on that start line. Believe and trust your training.
