I tried 3:10:00, 3:05:00 and 3:00:00 pace on the treadmill last night. Heart rate wise 3h was just about ok for a marathon. So In the real world it’s just a little too much. Particularly as I’m a little light on the long runs, so will be lacking in endurance.

It’ll do 😉
Lee sounds like you know what pace you should do, just don’t get carried away on the day.

Chris, that is rapid for a training 10k, I reckon I'd struggle to break 39 solo.
I've had some really odd full leg aches the last few days - I'm hoping it's just a case of my body getting back to normal after the illness, as I was doing fine before on 70ish mpw and I only took 3 full days off running... If running relatively easily for 40-60 minutes the last 4 days has done this to me I'm not looking forward to how my legs will feel post-marathon.
Before I came down with 'cough-flu' I had half-scheduled tomorrow as a 5K (parkrun) PB assault, I'm still going to go along and see what happens but will definitely ease off if the PB is slipping away, unless there is a chance of a parkrun 'podium' (my best placing at Hallam is 4th). Sunday is the Sheffield Half Marathon and there is a chance a few of the quicker runners might not be park-running.

LMH - a gentle 6 miles for me this morning with one at 7:00m/m. Knee held up ok. I could certainly feel it but it was bearable and once I got home and did some stretching/rolling it felt right as rain. Just finished my packing. 06:20 flight in the morning. I'll check back in on here once I've arrived tomorrow. Keep up the good running guys!

Safe travels Fordy!
I have run a few races at 36.3x Chris. At my best. Think sub-40 would be my limit solo!
Enjoy going hard Brunski. That should deal with any 'taperitis'.

Chris - That is rapid for a solo run!
I’m yet to go sub37 in a race! 😳
Brunski - What time you aiming for?
LMH - On my training plan on the penultimate week it has an 8 mile run with 3x1600m at 5k pace. I was thinking just fitting in a full pelt parkrun instead. Not sure now as knee is still tender? Taper mind games?
Fordyboy - Good luck! 👍🏻

Looking good all round, especially fordyboy for the weekend. My quads still feel a touch tired/tight, wary of stretching too much cos I haven't been stretching all year so far! Two more days to go anyway, haven't done any fast kms since weds (and that was only 4k at MP) so I'm sure I'll be fine on the day.
Pace band for 2:47 printed....but also for 2:45 Think I've given up on the latter to be honest, but you never know...if it all feels too easy on the day I might give myself a chance at it. Travelling to mancs tomorrow for an airbnb to save an early start and stressful morning drive.

Lee, I did a parkrun one week out but not full pelt and I'd personally be wary of that. Some threshold running would seem more appropriate IMO.
