I seem to have made a Lazarus like recovery. Not sure why but the beechams tablets and a 4 mile run to work (with elevated HR) seemed to kick start my system and I felt better all day.

I still canned the effort run tonight and even if I had wanted to the snow/sleet would have made it impossible and so I did an easy 6 miles home with HR back where I would expect it.

Quite happy with a 12 hour lurgy if thats all it is

Belle is a sleek 5 year old Border Collie LMH. Quite clearly built for running when you see her at pace!

My cold seems to have been scared off a bit with all the miles, mild chesty cough though so tapering will start this week rather than next. I did feel really sluggish today despite rapidly improving evening weather. Hopefully just the effort of the weekend plus mild effect from the cold.

Glad to hear you are in the best shape of all of us JDA as you are nearly on the start line.

I’m staying clear of you lot with all your niggles and sniffles!

I’ve just signed up (it closes tonight) for the Grangemouth RTH 10K on Sunday. P&D always schedules these tune up races on a Saturday, so I’ll rest on Saturday, race on Sunday and think about doing the long run on Monday.

Good luck Fergus. I did Grangemouth last year and bagged a decent PB. Its a quick route. I decided it was too short this year and am doing the half kilomathon instead. Should be a bit less competitive and it finished in Murrayfield Stadium which is a stones throw from my front door

I’m more scared of 10K than the marathon - the pain starts sooner!

57.5 DoP - Tooth pain has eased off massively so not sure what to do? Was taking strong painkillers and still in pain. Now on nothing and it’s a lot better? It definitely needs sorting but not sure whether to do it this close to the Marathon?

Baz - Glad you feel better! You were right to ditch the effort run! 👍🏻

Jda - You’ve got this! 💪🏻

FergusG - Good luck in the 10k! 🤞🏻

Didn’t run today as right knee has been tender since my parkrun! Will try to do a steady 10 tomorrow! Was thinking of racing another parkrun the Saturday week before London!
Safe to do or too much risk?

Lee, surely there’s plenty of time to get it fixed now? The last thing you want is for it to flair up on race weekend

I would see if you could get the tooth sorted Lee ASAP. Would not get it extracted in the week before your race though so trust to luck if you can't get a quickish appointment.

Lee just get the tooth done - started if not finished (assuming may be multiple visits required).

Good news here, at least relatively speaking. Got some sleep to catch up on though.

Sounds like things are picking up for people around here! Pleasing to read. I'm going to try another short, gentle run in the morning to see how the knee is feeling. Touch wood, it is has been much better today.
