Dave A / Jock Itch - Hoping to join your gang come Sunday night.
All I can say is that if I score the sub-3hr on Sunday then it will be the end to a long (and sometimes painful) 4yr journey since my 1st attempt.
Any successful attempt shall also be reflected on my memorial bench long after I've kicked the bucket (In Memory of Alan O'Rourke, Loving Husband & Father and Sub 3hr Marathon Runner). And I'm not Joking!!!

Dave A /Jock Itch " We're not worthy", good luck Twopies I've heard Berlin is a great course so enjoy and remember "pain in temporary but a sub 3hr is for life".
Been looking for some inspiration myself as training is tough at the moment, running the Athens Classic in November, sub 3hr will be hard but I'll give it a go, ran 3.10 3 years ago and 1.22&1.24 for half's this year.

Twopies- according to RW, Berlin was 5 minutes faster than FLM as a course, and is the fastest Major.
If you're ever going to post a pb, then that's the course to do it on (ask Haile...)
The key to success will be
1. consistent pacing / effort 2. good drinking and eating strategy 3. maintaining focus over the last 10k 4. getting onto a sub-3 train as you enter the last 10k phase (if you can)
Your results confirm you have the speed. You've done the endurance training. Enjoy the fruits of your labours!

B.B.
Berlin is a fast, flat course. I can't say I loved it like I have other marathons, but that's mainly because I felt that sub-3 wasn't on and I jogged home in 3:06. No complaints though - Geb set a WR at the same time (well, two thirds of the time!)

Half the battle is believing. If you know you have the training in the bank believe. "Whether you think you can or whether you think you can't your probably right"
