Following halfpint's excellent lead I'm linking one or two useful threads: If you want to get back into or start up a regular yoga practice: fetcheveryone.com/forum/the-yoga-every-well-some-days-thread-60099/ For strength and other resistance training. We love gyms! We love heavy weights! We love any weights! Am publicizing as it's 'my' thread, but I am by no means the most regular or illustrious member. Dead friendly and motivating! fetcheveryone.com/forum/ladies-who-lift-58382/ And just because it's probably THE best support thread around fetcheveryone.com/forum/the-benefits-of-giving-up-alcohol-18416/ |

I read a blog recently that characterised the inner voice as a parrot, which I found quite helpful. It doesn't really know what it's saying, it's just a parrot. Pop off, parrot!

I found identifying and calling out my gremlins helpful, but first you need to be able to see that they ARE gremlins, because the little bastards are very skilled at convincing you that they're the voice of reason and they're on your side, and just when you think you've got one of them under control it'll pop back wearing different clothes.

Most of us appear to have a veritable menagerie of chimps, parrots, gremlins and Gladyses squawking in our bonces. I'll just have ME there thank you very much. Core ME being objective, realistic and just kind* enough. * kind - not soft |

I think my inner voice is actually my mother. I think I might need Rae to have a word with her

I'm going to do what a lot of others are doing Having a bug free fetch point get a badge Run the sum. That's stupid considering my current running September in honesty is not the easiest week workwise. That might be a blog |

Don’t try something that you know is daft, Owlie! Set a realistic target! (If you really want to).

Lurking on this thread even though September is more of a 'finishing something' month for me (mainly finishing Virtual GNR and Virtual London training as well as trying for 30 days bug-free in Fetchpoint - on 11 so far). Definitely doing Run The Sum though. And more yoga. |

Agree with Sharkie. Don't set a target that's a big stretch unless you know how you're going to achieve it. You're more likely to stick with something you have a chance of completing successfully.
