Chicken and mushroom with tarragon for lunch today - with home made soda bread as it only takes 30 minutes from scratch

This evening I had some beetroot and celeriac soup with some carrot, potato, garlic and Marigold vegetable bouillon. Came out nice, albeit very red. I love the 'peel it, chop it, chuck it in' approach as it means we are throwing away a lot less food. The only thing I've found really doesn't work is 'stringy' green veg like kale. YMMV of course.

Carrot and ginger - prep 5 mins, on hob for 35 mins then blitzed with stick. Cheap lunch for a few days.

I’m going to buck the trend of this thread - no blender! Chicken stock from scratch to make a ramen-style noodle soup with wontons. Also good for chucking in random veg ends.

About This Thread

Maintained by EvilPixie
It’s got to that time of the year when soup is king!

Last winter I was wfh and happily heated up soup knowing that no one would know if I was late back to work (not that I took breaks anyway!).

Now I’m back in the office I’m reluctant to use the tiny kitchen as it’s well used and little cleaned. So thought I’d dig out my food flask and take hot soup/ food in with me. This also allows warm food post lunchtime walk or run.

Which leads me to ….. soup makers.

To buy or not ...
