Chilli is in the slow cooker.
I'm buying an Instant Pot from a friend: cooking/recipe recommendations please!

How is an Instant Pot different to a slow cooker?

An Instant pot is a pressure cooker first of all. It has a slow cooker function but it is said to be not brilliant. Some Instant Pots can also air fry.

I have an Instant Pot and it's fab.

Ah I see. My mum had a pressure cooker but no idea what she used it for. Never really got on with my slow cooker I found it washed a lot of taste out.

Yeah, I reckon slow cookers are not what they're cracked up to be. The pressure cooker does the same meals but in a different way. I like mine and it produces great results but nonetheless, there's no substitute for a casserole that's spent a couple of hours bubbling away and gently cooking down at the back of the oven.

Chilli con carne prepared this morning and sitting in the slow cooker for later :-)

Using my own grown chillies too - can't wait for tea time :-)

I use my crock pot to melt a mixture of paraffin wax, molybdenum sulphate and PTFE to treat my bicycle chains!

I have two slow cookers and have been known to have both running as part of the same meal.

I fond mine really useful for having tea ready on time when I don't have cooking time available just before.

You do need to avoid too much liquid though as it can get a bit bland and watery if you're not careful.
