Can anyone recommend a slow cooker that is actually slow? Ours cooks the shit out of stuff, even on the low setting. I shopped around online and almost every slow cooker has someone commenting that thing cooks too fast. The low setting on our is effectively a fairly strong simmer.

EP slap away! Hope it turns out well
KB ours seems the same , I have put it down to not putting enough volume in to cook in ours, not sure if that really is the issue but I bought a bigger volume one and it only ever seems to be half full.

We've bought a bit of gammon and some cola to stick in the slow cooker on Sunday. We do need to use ours more, and have been looking at recipes (hence watching this thread!), but would need to stick it in the garage during the week, as we do not trust the cat...

I don't think they need as long even on the low temperature as my first one (wedding present 34 years ago). Wish mine had a timer as I need to switch it on when I leave at 7.30am and everything is then falling apart by 6pm when I come home.

LG can you get a timer switch for the wall and set the power to go on and off that way?
