Hi guys, first post in ages, hope youre all well, ive had an enforced lay off after tearing my left hamstring nearly 5 weeks ago and managed my first run out this morning, pace was slow, distance was short and my waistline has definitely expanded but all in all reasonably happy with my efforts, made me realise one thing though, the older you get the easier it is to get injured and the longer it takes to get right again, I think i will have to re think my running from now on, anyway hope youre all good and injury free :)

Oh no Stew, that's a shame. Have you had to bin Liverpool then, or could your defer? Glad you're getting back on it. Have you had any massages to help? Stretching and some kind of cross training helps too, if you can fit it in somewhere.

Hi Kwala and thanks :)
Unfortunately AP i have had to bin Liverpool, although I have someone who wants to take my place, i think i need to do something other than just run and i have started stretching now heading out and when i get back, i just pushed it a bit too much that final week getting 4 runs in in 6 days and at pace too was just too much, oh well onwards and upwards and all that :)

Hi Stewie, so sorry to hear you have been injured. You take it easy coming back, go really slow and only do a bit at a time. What a bummer though, gutted for you.

Legs feels good today, feet a bit sore though. We had a nice walk to the pier at Ambleside for pizza and cokes overlooking the lake at the YHA there, great pizza I can recommend the food there! Totally chilled out today, and tomorrow we have plans to get on the steamer boat across the lake and then on the steam train all being well, my legs feel good but not good enough to hike up the fells so we are staying low and doing touristy stuff :-)

You are going to be soooo lucky with your weather up there this week Lem, maybe a paddle or 2 would be good for your sore feet. :)
