A quick check of the Half results show over 100 with Full Marathon numbers who decided to "take a right" at 12 miles.

Just had a look, and with nothing better to do counted close to 250 that went right instead of left. With a few DNS and DNF's that gets it close to the 1300 entry mentioned earlier.
Must have been some tough choices made out there approaching the split point.

Tough race yesterday! I was aiming for sub 4 but slowed badly from halfway onwards and finished in 4:20:58. I'm pretty pleased anyway as this was my first marathon and conditions were really tough. This was my first race in a fetch top and it was great getting words of encouragement from people all around the course! I'll definitely be running more marathons again in future although I may need a bit of time off first as even walking today is pretty tough!

WildeRover - glad you made it safe and sound, and managed to get running again. I remember now that you told me your name but at that point I'm afraid I was a bit blinkered and only just managing to keep myself going. Well done xx

At least this time I didn't do 10 miles on a stress fracture, like at the Cardiff Half two years ago..............no crutches needed this time. Beginning to wonder whether this running stuff is good for your health.

I'm beginning to sound like a race hypochondriac!!!! I think I should point out that I am not a serial disaster case..............I normally finish races in good health and fine fettle (although the limp is a regular feature).
