Well done to everyone who raced and a big hello to the fetchie's I met, Paula, Zoom & Mr Zoom, WR, Gooner, FD, well done Mick and Phil on your race, sorry you weren't able to complete but glad your ok, Jason didn't see you on the Greenway but I wasn't very observant yesterday hope it wasn't too hot out there, loved the race apart from the Greenway on the 2nd lap, glad it wasn't my imagination that made it seem longer on the 2nd lap, well done WR on getting going again, not easy. feel well rested now with a touch of stiffness.

WR well done mate - mental strength!!! CQ thanks for trawling through the results, the split is a f*cker. so we're all agreed then...we did pretty well to get round and if you've got a PB well done you deserve it.
If you didn't get round, no worries there's always the next time - we've all been there

Hemel Runner
My quads have been killing me all day. Glad I do an office job.
I managed to run up until 19-20 miles and then by body just stopped and made me walk. I didn't seem to have any control over it. Managed to get in at 4.33.15. As its my first go Im happy.
My new aim is to complete a marathon without walking or stopping.
Apologies if you had to experience my bad language on the second lap of the greenway.

Just back from a hill session and body pump class, had to lower my weights in lunges but otherwise all was OK. Just goes to show the more you do the less they hurt the next day!

Jwellis, I'd say not very observant is being kind! You missed like 2 miles of the course and a mahoosive bridge! lol. I saw Jason on the first lap too after he shouted to me and I actually paid attention to my surroundings that is! WR, you constant overtaking of me kept me going in those last few miles and mucho respect for getting back up and carrying on!

I’ve been assessing in my mind what happened yesterday at Shakespeare,
and I can only assume that I’m not fully fit yet, HM is no problem, but I was sapped and drained at 17 miles - I lost all mental attitude and desire, I was cold , and I was glad to retire and rest and get warm
Many thanks to ALL for words of comfort and support, but I do have to be honest and ask myself, as I’m now nearly 52, - just days away, and Phillip is nearly 22 is there another FM left in me ???
Pushing Phillip is not getting any easier
no shame, not being negative, just wondering

Gobi - Shakespeare isn't particulary hilly although there are some flatter courses.
