Big G - yes, I'd heard there is a specialist watchmaker in N/A, not that I've ever needed his services.

That's not much notice for JW to make a decision about NYC, bit unfair for runners that might need a bit more time to arrange time off or funding if applicable.

Yes, that’s what she was saying. She doesn’t want to go on her own and she travels a lot with her sister, who works in a school, so not necessarily straight forward to organise time off. She seemed 50/50.

Big G-If she was under the time that WMM had set then she was guaranteed a place so tbh she should have known that if she was interested.
Legs feel OK today so will go for a little run later, fly off to Fuerteventura tomorrow for a few days break.

Ian, I think it just wasn’t on her radar at all. Maybe she got emails beforehand about it but it was only the recent invite email that she noticed, and it had info about hotel prices etc.

Big G - not a great time to take time off for someone working in a school as just back after half term. Sports tour company if she wants to go on her own, plenty company and no worries about logistics.

WP - glad you're a little better but not good about the cough. Will be a while before you can run again, unfortunately. 😕

Ian - that's a positive shift in your training, running further and without discomfort after your long run.

Gym done, trashed my legs so only managed a few minutes on the bike at the end of the session.

Big G-NYC is usually on the last day of half term,so her sister could go but then travel back Saturday and she races Sunday,if they're happy travelling 1 way alone.

Keith - you entered any races yet for the Shadies list?

Ian - enjoy your holiday and the warm weather training. 😎

IOM have finally confirmed their race date, 10th August. I'm not sure about booking up as having failed to get there the last 2 years, am I tempting fate to book again? Can't get a refundable air fare, not available on that route.

I was hoping that my friend that I usually meet up in the IOM would come to Dublin with me, but she's held off committing to that for now.

My unspent budget is getting low too, booked my Dublin hotel this morning £500+ 😲. Will book flights soon.

About This Thread

Maintained by Shades
Back in December 2005 I started a thread on Runner's World offering a marathon training plan on 3 runs a week. I had my own running club at the time (Womens Running Network) and I had successfully trialled the training plan when I took a group of girls to Dublin to run their first marathon.

Over the years the thread has evolved into a chat thread, with a bit of training advice, race reports, for predominantly marathon runners.
