No, @Big_G, it's my first DD. It'll be a reason to do different things in training.

WP - oh no, sounds like it's a bug you've picked up.

My RHR is up 4, I put that down to the gym yesterday. My legs are a bit tired after all those steps and some upper body muscles a bit gym tired.

WP - you have quite a low RHR so +8 is a big jump. Are you feeling poorly?

10 miles for me today, lovely and mild. Rain at start but that stopped soon. Ran where the flooding was last weekend, causeway wall is damaged in two places but with safety barriers isn't a problem for pedestrians or traffic. The flooding in the fields has subsided and I counted 20 egrets in one field as I ran on that section of road. I'd seen on FB that part of the cycle path had been destroyed by the floods but it's a section I never use as I didn't like the gravelly surface. Last two miles was hard, very bad cardiac drift probably aided by sore glutes and quads, that's from Friday's gym session.

40 miles for the week πŸ˜€

I have Vrap on the tracker, she's doing very well.

WP - I do hope that's not another bout of Covid πŸ€’. You seem to be unfortunate picking up lots of bugs/viruses.

About This Thread

Maintained by Shades
Back in December 2005 I started a thread on Runner's World offering a marathon training plan on 3 runs a week. I had my own running club at the time (Womens Running Network) and I had successfully trialled the training plan when I took a group of girls to Dublin to run their first marathon.

Over the years the thread has evolved into a chat thread, with a bit of training advice, race reports, for predominantly marathon runners.
