Ah just seen I mistyped,he wants me not to run all out.
The injection is meant to be really good from what I have read about it.
The 24 hr isn't until late next month, will keep an eye on it in the meantime.

Ian - I thought it might be a typo. So you can still do HCA but running well within yourself.

A pretty good day then. ๐Ÿ™‚

That does sound a good result Ian.

WP - you sound a little bit interested in Crawley.๐Ÿ˜‰

I think I've only run there once, I did the 12 hour and was first lady. I still have the Brooks jacket I won as a prize. ๐Ÿ™‚

I don't think I ran there again as it was clashing with Connemara for a few years.

Seems quite good news Ian in that you can still run the event if you want. Not great about the shoulder though, but hopefully the injection will help it. Are you happy enough with the news?

Big G-TBH I was hoping for more positive news about the race, yes its great I can run,but was hoping he'd day all good. The shoulder is annoying, I'll have to see how it settles,at the minute it seems bad, hoping it settles down as the injection works.

Shades I was shocked Stevenage sold out, they moved the date not to clash with Beachyhead but clashed with Abingdon. The half is almost full as well, itโ€™s brilliantly organised and been running for 40 years obviously doing something right as the course is awful.

WP good news on the taping and well done on the 6 miles.

Big G glad No harm to Tigg, I donโ€™t believe there are any bad dogs just bad owners (or careless). Running is general mojo, niggles, really. No fault but my own really.

Ian another I know who had steroid injection for shoulder has worked, positive you can still get out and run.

6.5 miles after work, took in the delights of Stevenage marathon course.

Rob - when I did Stevenage it was in the days that 100MC runners wanted to do as many different marathons as they could and support races all over the UK. That's all changed now and it seems many of the current membership are happy to run up and down a footpath without ever leaving their hometown. Thankfully marathons no longer need the 100MC support to become a success which is just as well.

IMHO Luton marathon was a far worse course and that used to fill every year and was really popular. Only marathon where I witnessed drug dealing and a friend of mine while marshalling was the victim of an attempted mugging.

I know a few folk were shocked Stevenage filled so quickly and hadn't entered in time. Abingdon is full and last I heard were refusing any more entrants putting their names on the waiting list for a transfer, that's just like the old days. They've extended their time limit too so that would have helped with the entries.

Day 8 of this bloody Covid, RHR still raised but my head is slowly starting to clear, still don't feel great and getting cabin fever now.

Shades I think it is 12th April and if I ever did dip my toe in the water it would be something like that.

8 days is a long time to be ill with Covid ,Can you get out when it warms up and go for a walk even if a mile? Good new RHR is dropping.

Rob: Great running sounds like all the aches and pains are starting to subside.

My RHR is back to perfect spot on .So that ties in with everything I am feeling within my body.

WP - so good to hear your health is back to where you want it to be and you're feeling good.

My RHR isn't dropping, remaining stubbornly high. I went out yesterday for a mile walk but it doesn't make me feel any better.

I thought I detected a frission of interest in the track race. There are a few around the country. There's a very famous one closer to you, this is a 40 mile (or marathon option) lescroupiersrunningclub.uk

About This Thread

Maintained by Shades
Back in December 2005 I started a thread on Runner's World offering a marathon training plan on 3 runs a week. I had my own running club at the time (Womens Running Network) and I had successfully trialled the training plan when I took a group of girls to Dublin to run their first marathon.

Over the years the thread has evolved into a chat thread, with a bit of training advice, race reports, for predominantly marathon runners.
