Didn’t know how to turn the grill on because my oven was new last year. Turned the knob round to something which looked like a grill. Waited a few minutes but it was cold. Realised I hadn’t actually turned the temperature knob on so the grill was set to zero degrees.
Then set fire to the lamb skewers I was grilling for dinner, because I didn’t have foil to cover the wooden sticks so I used foil backed parchment paper instead. It turns out this is not a good idea because parchment paper is flammable when placed under the grill :)

I finished teaching yoga this afternoon, grabbed AirPods case to put them in and then went for my eye to put my contact lenses into it! :P

I’ve lost my slippers, have scoured the house for them but they’re nowhere to be seen. My floors are very cold so normally I wear them every second I’m indoors.
I can only assume they’re in the washing machine since I put a load on yesterday afternoon then completely forgot to hang it all out. So I’ve put it on to wash again, fingers crossed the slippers turn up in there!

My slippers weren’t in the washing machine. How can I lose something when I’m almost always at home and my house is clean and tidy?!

Standard Operating Procedure for lost items :
1) Blame the rest of the family / household. See if that works.
2) If not, do it again, but LOUDER ...
3) Look in the garage, car, running shoe rack.
4) Ignore the family when they say 'it will be in your 'office'
5) Search the house again

6) 2 days later find it in the 'office' and keep very quiet

About This Thread

Maintained by ChrisHB
This morning I went to charge my kindle and instead found myself trying to charge my coffee mug. It was my third coffee of the day as well, clearly not strong enough!

=============

I was just drying my hair after a shower, I switched the hairdryer on and suddenly the bedroom was plunged into darkness, the hairdryer wasn't working either. Great, the electrics have just tripped out.

I find a torch, go to the fuse box but nothing has tripped - turns out I pressed the light switch instead of the hairdryer 'on' button.
