Nice running DT and bargain hunting
Always nice to miss the rain ward
Tough sounding 16 TR and impressive weekly total

All but 2 (Boston UK both times)of my marathons have been multi lap races. My PB was at Rother Valley in 2019 that was 7 3/4 times around the lakes.

4.5 miles today with running drills and 7 x100 metre strides.

20 miler planned for Sunday

One of those days when you're glad to get indoors out of the wind at the end of the run.

Goodwood is 11 (and a little bit) laps, 1 to 11 instead of 1 to 26.

Riggsy - good balance to that training, LT run, drills and strides, 20 tomorrow. Do you run 20s all year round?

Big week TR particularly given your recent racing.

Riggsy - glamorous sounding marathon that one. My current PB also a multi lapper at Nottingham Christmas marathon. Hoping for another at multi lap Bedford on 4 August.

DT19 - odd trashing of the legs but seems similar to what I experienced at cork. certainly not what we're generally told about the super shoes. Nice progression through parkrun.

rest Friday with drive down to North devon. Woolacombe dunes parkrun yesterday morning. Generally regarded as 2nd/3rd toughest in the UK so although the plan called for an easy run I knew if there was a chance of a 1st finish I'd go for it as a bucket list kinda run. 20:54 was good enough for first (including a couple of walking sections). spoke to 2nd after and it turns out he ran 16:30 for a 5k on Wednesday and he's an 800m runner by background. glad I didn't know that before we started because I really would have been worried when I could see him in my rear view mirror. Rest day today.

Riggsy - that will keep you long run adapted.

Joe - you love a parkrun nowadays........don't think I've got anywhere near my potential in those recent races, either due to stopping to help a collapsed runner, trudging through the mud in woods, or just being a bit crap last week..........got another 10k next sunday, but I'm only doing it as it starts in Exbury Gardens in New Forest, and you get to stay there for the rest of the day with no admission fee, and my wife gets in half price as race supporter. Put on by the Eastleigh 10k folks so it should be half decent.

The wind did get up here this afternoon TR but at least the sun is out.

RJR.. congrats on the win! Sounds a very tough course if it can be won in circa 20/21 minutes. My mate clocked 15.42 at the Selby parkrun yesterday (a flat out & back course on an airfield). Only good enough for 2nd!

Riggsy.. I really enjoyed the Rother Valley parkrun when I ran it a few years ago. I wonder if the scenery might make the 7/8 laps more bearable?

5m + 4m double today, driest day for a while - just the one shower. 64m for the week.

Well done on the win RJR
Sadly the Rother valley marathon fell victim to the lockdown and no longer happens wardi. It was run in the opposite direction to the parkrun. Nice weekly milage as well.

20 miles today. First 60 mins easy HR less than 140, second 60 mins a bit harder HR 150-165, rest of run fairly easy. Felt good enjoyed the run

About This Thread

Hi

Fetch has said us RW refugees can relocate here. I know there are existing sub3 and 3.15 threads, but the fetch threads seem to be for more infrequent posters. The RW threads are more of a daily diary.

We'll see how it goes.

I'm a M57 hanging on to sub3. I'm unattached harriers so like a place to talk a bit of running and find some inspiration and accountability.
