Riggsy, I think if you can run 9m without issue you're there. Gereard, looks like you've had a good few days. I tend to prioritise safety, death by car or ankle breaking surfaces, over varied and interesting routes. Oo,well done on making a parkrun. Tr, I can't believe you've cycled in this. You must have some pretty decent winter riding kit? Lmh, glad to hear things have thawed out and drain was fixed without cost. Looks like a decent block of weather now. They did well to get that parkrun on, Wardi. The mara circuit is definitely thriving. Hope you had a decent one today. 8m Friday as a hill surge fartlek. Few very tricky areas underfoot. Rest day yesterday then out 9.30 for 22m, came in 22.5 as slightly miscalculated the route. Things had thawed reasonably well by then so decent underfoot and cold but not horribly cold. 65m for the week. 7 weeks to go yo Tokyo |

Tr, x post. Hopefully some rehab work and a little bit more time and you'll be good.

Nice miles DT19. Sorry to hear that TR. Forecast is better but still cold tomorrow - feels like 0C at 1000hrs - and we have a mist/fog descending at the moment. Hoping for a good week this week as not currently working again until Sunday. |

Wardi Barcelona is a decent marathon, like the other Spanish ones, and a popular weekend destination. I found the organisation slightly shambolic in some areas so hope it has improved as they scale up. I heard about York Wardi good on the parkrun volunteer crew 👍. Hope you got a longer run in today Wardi. Good to get some miles in TR, I'm sure things will settle soon and you can catch back 🤞 Fantastic miles DT. I was in a group which also contained a girl training for Tokyo, so I added a few extras to get her to her target of 22 miles. It was just plod pace but good time on feet, and by far my longest run since Chester. The knee held up but was a bit sore after. Don't want to speak too soon, but a definite improvement with the knee this week. And glad you have your sink back LMH. |

OO61.. I find the Barca start waves much slicker than London though I appreciate they are dealing with smaller numbers. My wife also reckons it is very easy for spectators to get around the course. ⁴Good of you to chaperone a girl over 22m, do you reckon your knee is improving? After a week of mostly treadie miles mine does seem less niggly. DT19.. that's a cracking long run on a chilly day, a good week of miles for you too. TR.. sorry to hear that, not great news. When I had sciatica in the summer I hit the bike almost daily, got me out in the fresh air and kept me fit. Hope you can find a solution. Riggys.. 9m is very encouraging for you, best of luck building up from here. A degree or two warmer than yesterday so got out for 10m, most of the snow & ice patches were gone. 57m for the week. Then settled down to watch the afternoon FA Cup ties. Great win for Plymouth yesterday OO! |

Oo, that's a decent step up and hood that yhe knee was OK. Wardi, good work on the 10. Same here, enjoyed the Tamworth game in particular, a classic 3rd round clash. Decent draw for Plymouth also. Feel pretty decent after the run now so uowards next week. Just walked the dog and despite the rise in temps it's frozen out there already. |

I'm trying not to be too optimistic @wardi as this injury regularly bites you in the arse. But I got through a big week and definitely a better knee week- slightly different sensation as my foot hits the ground. What's more pleasing is my general form. Just felt better this week like the engine is picking up again. I'm not going to risk track but a few pacier sessions might be less possible. I might do a mile race in South Shields on Wednesday, then aim for a below 19 parkrun next week. Getting carried away already.... That's a strong weekly mileage by your good self. Mine was 52 and I need to build it up for most weeks up to London 🤞 |

Ran to father in laws at tea time and found him on the floor and he had passed away. Nurse mode kicked in knowing he had a respect form and had wanted to die at home and wasn’t for CPR. Then had to phone my wife and sister in law. Then contacted 111 to set the appropriate wheels in motion. All the staff I spoke to and who came to his house were amazing. The local funeral directors came just after 2200hrs. Shit run really Will have a read through tomorrow of what you all been up to |

Sorry to read that news riggys. My condolences to you all. An awful thing to have to go through but glad to read your training kicked in and that all the services stepped up as admirably as you did. Best wishes.

Sorry for your loss riggys. Probably good that it was you that found him rather than Mrs riggys. OO61 - good news on the long run and knee feeling better but don't push it! DT19 - much colder than I was expecting again this morning. Treadie more likely to make my knees niggly Wardi - good that it's had the opposite effect on yours. |
