Evening all
Wouldn’t have fancied bike commute this week TR good work on getting that done
Well done on the 9 treddie miles wardi
Most of the Parkruns around here are on council parks apart from a couple that are on NT land or similar.
Just over 9.5 miles late afternoon. Still plenty off ice and snow in places. Ended up at Rother valley and lots of the gravel track was icy. Around -1 to -2 towards end of run.
Achilles no worse for doing 9 than when I have done 5 or 6. Used some magnesium oil spray to help recovery plus the strength work the physio gave me.
LMH I am still waiting for the shockwave therapy on the NHS.

I'm looking forward to some better weather too Gerard. Enjoy parkrun. Far too short for me!
Have you found a venue OO61?
Will they still do it given how well you've recovered riggys?
Freezing fog this morning and I've yet again woken with a bad headache - didn't clear all day yesterday and is worse today. I think it's actually sinus so have taken a decongestant. Just to add to my joy the bathroom sink isn't draining. It was absolutely fine yesterday. Have poured some drain unblocker down more in hope than expectation. Not sure what my next move will be, see if one of my long suffering more practical friends is able to have a look at it for me I guess. I'd like to avoid paying to call a plumber out especially on a Saturday.

LMH.. I had success unblocking our kitchen sink as follows. Straighten a wire coat hanger, at one end bend about 1-2 cm back on itself tightly with some pliers. Shove this down the plug hole and wiggle around. If you are making progress you would usually hear a gurgling noise as an air gap is created. After that boil the kettle and pour hot water down the plug hole. Having said all that the drain cleaners are pretty effective but do sometimes take a few hours to work. Good luck!

Gerard - hopefully you are on the up in time for milder weather.......my next options are walk or bus, I don't have my own car. Been just over 4 years now, it's good for making you have to run and bike, but bad when the weather is grim.
Riggsy - sounds like you're on the mend now.
LMH - I expect that will have done the trick.......I have two other weapons to use......a drain snake (2 or 3 metre long spring, good for drains and washing machine outputs) and an item which is a big syringe with a plunger on the end, you shoot and suck water in and out of the sink trap, works a treat......you can buy both at diy store and Amazon.

Morning
LMH I think they will still do the shockwave as there will be no assessment just treatment. Hope your sink is sorted
Hope people found a Parkrun. I think Rother valley would have been off it was icy yesterday afternoon.
Quite a bit of ice and frost here so will run this afternoon

Thanks Wardi. Current thinking is that the pipes are frozen in which case I’m not sure I can use my shower either! Would make sense as the ice never cleared from the bathroom window yesterday. Fortunately I have a friend who is coming round to take a look though there may be nothing to do other than wait for the thaw.
Cold and more slippery out but I’m just back from ten miles.

Wipers froze on the car this morning too. But made it to riverside parkrun, one of only 2 in the North East that went ahead. Ran a steady 19:30 which felt very comfortable. Knee was also OK ish. No time for a warm up or cooler, so will need 20 tomorrow to reach 50. I'll probably settle for 16-18. So tough in this weather to get the miles in....

Good news that your knee held up OO61.
Hope it’s a bit warmer when you get out riggys.
Bad news is that it appears the waste pipe from the sink is frozen somewhere. Good news is that it’s a separate one from the bath so I was able to use my shower.
