You must have a very cold kitchen LMH. I've left the knee to it's own devices this week. But a fair few walks in the Lakes following by evening runs. See how it copes with a long one tomorrow.
Amazed you survive without a car TR. Even getting to races must be challenging

LMH - that will be plastic pipe so will defrost ok. Good work on the 10m.
OO61 - I borrow my wife's car on race day (I pay all the bills for it), but she uses it Saturday's and most weekdays. She often comes to shorter Sunday races and walks the doggy. I have to book it for longer races or further away races......my lad has a car too, which i can borrow. But he uses it weekdays.

Ah yes TR. We have 2 cars but will go down to 1 as soon as the older one gets expensive to service. At the moment it's cheap to run and both are very low mileage.

That's reassuring TR. Thank you.
OO61 - it's an extension at the rear of the house which never gets any sun on it and I've been rather frugal with the heating. It has never been an issue before. The kitchen is lovely in the summer if it ever gets really warm as it stays nice and cool.

Ahh makes sense. Our extension/conservatory is a bit like that. We use it as an oversized fridge in the winter š

Evening
Didnāt get out till it was getting dark as wanted to time my run to call at father in laws and microwave his tea for him. First mile to his house was fine. Made a mistake going on the old pit on way home and it was very icy in places on the gravel paths and rutted on the grass at the side but survived. A bit of yoga and lots of calf raises after the run.
Hope the house warms up for you LMH

Glad you made it round safely riggys.
Good news - the sink has cleared overnight! Ice has gone from the bathroom window too so I'm assuming we had a warmer night. Definitely much less frost to scrape off the car before heading in to work this morning though the pavements are still white.
Enjoy the milder weather guys. Work today but looking forward to running in positive temperatures tomorrow - will just need to avoid the flooding.

Well done on getting out yesterday Riggys - and staying upright.
LMH.. good news re. your kitchen plumbing. Yes I'm looking forward to milder temps now we've had a week of the chilly stuff.
OO61.. congrats on finding a Parkrun. York did go ahead (circa 700 runners). The team there do have a very 'can do' approach and try and get the event on one way or another.
TR.. I have one of those drain snake tools, they do come in handy once in a while.
I did get out for a run yesterday as the sun was out, 5m done. Hoping to get a bit further today weather permitting.
I recently heard that the 2025 Barca marathon has sold out (27,000 entries). They got around 15,000-20,000 entries in recent years, seems to be another international marathon that is getting very popular.

LMH - ice has gone here too
Wardi - saw that re Barca, running is booming.
Did 6m but ended up walking home. So some miles is a positive, but feeling like I needed to stop and walk isnt good. One week lost, will need to get on the turbo to try to retain fitness. Will have to keep at the rehab and try again later in the week. I'm a long way from marathon training.
