I was asked on Twitter how many people I thought would complete the challenge. I reckon the early drop out rate was quick, but is slowing down, so I guessed 40+. What are your guesses?

Mind you I might not be one of them cos I keep forgetting the date we’re on. Today I was convinced I had to do 8kms. At least I was over not under the required amount! 😜😂

I think everyone hung I over the weekend but we’ve lost one or two a day over the last couple of days (assuming there isn’t anyone sitting on a backlog of training to upload) My hunch is that this week will be the toughest with longer runs coinciding with working days and still a long way to go. I’m finding it interesting how it’s not the run length but the relentlessness that’s tough. None of them are particularly long but the longer ones don’t always coincide with the days I feel good

After all of which I didn’t make a guess! 😂 I don’t think you’ll be very wide of the mark Fetch but I’ll go with 38.

Realised I’m working this Saturday and next Saturday, so the end of this week and next will be ‘interesting’ for me with this - especially with the darker morning...time to dig out the torch?

I'm guessing the number of finishers this month will be in the high twenties, with the attrition entirely due to life, niggles, and illness getting in the way. Everyone still taking part has the ability to finish, but the future is another country.

This is an interesting social experiment around the lure of a badge (says someone who collected it last month). The challenge has been available for years and has typically been completed by a handful of people each month since - because it's actually quite hard for all the reasons already given.

I'm minded to guess mid thirties to complete this month with fewer in subsequent months once the badge 'Hall of Fame' has been filled.

About This Thread

Maintained by fetcheveryone
1) Add the digits of the date together e.g 18th = 1+8 = 9km, 20th = 2+0 = 2km.

2) Run that distance on the relevant date to colour it in.

3) Complete the whole month to get a badge.
