Thanks fetcheveryone, it is nice to have your eulogy written down here as a good reminder of what swittle meant to everyone on this site.

I’ve been to loads of funerals/services. Ian done a great job. He didn’t have to do it, but it was such a fitting tribute to Swittle (a man of many names) 😊

Yes. Ian really did us proud and all the eulogies had an honest and loving tone I've rarely seen. I had a moment of "oh, of course he was a classicist" during one eulogy and loved the way his friends were determined to talk about him following Wakefield Trinity and NO MENTIONING WILDCATS.

Beautifully expressed Fetch. Thank you for sharing and to those who were able to go and represent this community.

I spent the day with a friend I wouldn’t have met without this site. We had a walk, a hug and looked out to sea.

I think Swittle would have approved.

About This Thread

Maintained by Lip Gloss
Never met him in person but always came across as a lovely man.

If you read about his nightly beach runs you could almost have been running along beside him.

He always encouraged others especially on the How was your run thread.

Hope all your beach run are still as perfect as they were while you were here xx

Funeral 5th April 1.30pm at the Thornton Garden of Rest, Lydiate Ln, Thornton, Liverpool L23 1TP
