Thank you Ian for your lovely tribute to Swittle on our behalf. Also appreciated being able to watch the live link, as I wasn't able to attend the funeral today. He is, and will be, missed x

It was so lovely to hear more about his life and know that the Swittle we may have known virtually was exactly the same to his friends speaking today - the last words really drummed in for me, and I hope he does join me on my trundle later, in spirit with that cheeky big grin and a few come on's.

Being kind is also something to take and continue his brilliant work

I've missed it (post-op sleeping), but would love to know more, and what @Fetcheverone said. Is it possible to put some of that here please?

It really moved me when his friend spoke of his great willpower. It must have taken great strength of mind to overcome his alcohol and mental health issues. Let alone go on and live a good life despite his demons. And he was always so open about it. Willpower should be more highly rated as a great virtue.

About This Thread

Maintained by Merry Lip Gloss
Never met him in person but always came across as a lovely man.

If you read about his nightly beach runs you could almost have been running along beside him.

He always encouraged others especially on the How was your run thread.

Hope all your beach run are still as perfect as they were while you were here xx

Funeral 5th April 1.30pm at the Thornton Garden of Rest, Lydiate Ln, Thornton, Liverpool L23 1TP
