Yes, but the problem is obviously magnified with covid - imagine if one of the riders comes down with covid having contracted it because some fan screams in their face.
I don't get why they need to get *so* close - be excited, be enthusiastic, but give the riders room.

Also Guirrero abandoned too. Gallopin injured as is Van Emden, but think they're both still there. Race was neutralised for a while.

There was a funny bit of coverage, which probably won't make the highlights. I think it was Victor Campenaerts who was caught "using the bathroom" on the live coverage, right from camera at the front of the pack....in pretty much full view, shall we say. Rob Hatch goes "Deary me, I think we caught a bit too much of Victor then" and Adam Blythe laughs out loud.

Shame about Buchmann, he was looking decent and could possibly have mdae the podium.
Shame for my team as well as he was a good differential.
Campenaerts' win is a nice consolation though.

Team SkIneos look so strong at the Giro this year. Every rider pulling his weight in that train. Historically they tend to have a stage where they go to pieces and today would seem the likeliest opportunity for that. They have got the tactics spot on as well, let the breaks go if they can't challenge GC and let/force other teams chase.
GC field is suddenly looking a bit weak. It looks like Yates is coming into some form but there is no-one else that looks like genuinely threatening Bernal. A third TT would have been welcome to provide a potential shake up here IMO. I know they are generally not popular but I love the TT days.
Mostly enjoyed the Giro, they still seem to pick parcours with too much street furniture and why can't organisers chuck in a 60km sprint stage rather than a 200km flat sprint stage where riders can spend most of the day at less than 100W?

I love a Team time trial  I wish they'd bring them back . We got tickets for the team pursuit finals at the 2012 games, its like poetry in motion, I was almost in tears by the end of it when Thomas, Clancy et al won!
Can't see anyone being Bernal unless his back gives in or Yates does a master manoeuvre.

I hanging on the thought that Bernal came in fit and fading whereas Yates has learned and came in just under cooked and is going to do a hail mary MAYBE TODAY
