Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Adam Blyth's shirt on last night's highlights is just spectacularly terrible.

Right, so since the highlights cut out just as they went onto the gravel and then came back after the break there were suddenly gaps to Evanpoel, can someone explain what happened?

The way the highlights were cut together, there was just suddenly a big gap between the front of the peleton and evenpoel and the rest.

He was dropping back on the gravel for awhile then eventually popped. Excess work caused his legs to go I think. Limited losses pretty well given how early he was dropped so didn't totally blow.

Mader (Ef Education) former stage winner and Masnada (DQS) have both abandoned too now.

Evenepoel I reckon will ship more time in the last week - young and without the legs for the toughest climbs. Vlasov, Caruso, Carthy, Yates and Buchmann are fighting it out for 2nd and 3rd I reckon, assuming Bernal's back doesn't go, or he hasn't shown too much like Yates did a couple of years back.

Breakaway today is the who's who of breakaway usuals (except for De Gendt). Bennett, Ulissi, Vendrame, Bouchard, Campanaerts, Albanese, De Bondt, Ravanelli. They'll want to lose Ulissi before the end.

Don't think any result Evenepoel is a surprise as the commentators said yesterday. If he stays up there and fights great, if he drops well this is his first GT after 9 months away from racing! Impressive enough already.

Bernal knows how to ride and recover, he also hasn't really done what Yates did. Back is what it's about IMO.
