Selective hearing from Almeida today I am sure, what, what, you are breaking up, I cannot hear bbbiiipppp barrrppp yes OK I hear now I drop back lol. You may not agree SPR but I reckon that's what will come out eventually. Fabulous stage, not quite as dramatic weather wise as last time it was in the Giro but still riders falling off left right and centre. Oh and Hayter took a win and the Jersey in Andalusia, good day for the British with Yates and Carthy hanging in on the sterrata. |

DB - I agree, that's what I said over the page. It's possible something else will come out later, but that's the most obvious explanation to me.

Nothing has been explained about Almeida but interesting that he has been specifically thanked with no mention of issues: cyclingnews.com Evenepoel thanked him on IG. |

Dan Martin wasn't as bad as Geraint Thomas, until Thomas actually won the tour. I suppose Richie Porte is the really flame out king. TJ Van Garderen also known for that, but then he just went rubbish completely! Porte is happy being domestique.

I do wonder if the DQS situation is more innocent and benign than it appeared. I can understand in the dust if Almeida couldn't easily see that Evenepoel had dropped off, and with delays in TV feed it took a while for the team car to realise. Maybe Evenepoel himself could have got the message over more quickly, but he's young, inexperienced as a GT leader and possibly feeling on the back foot for one of the first times in his short career, so who knows how he'd respond. |
