Wouldn’t expect them to do that. But they could easily work for him on the climbs. Just like he does for them.
And if he blows up or crashes (God forbid) then they could continue.
Will it happen. Perhaps. Would they go up in my estimation if they did. Definitely.

They've helped him win already. The reason Kuss is in the lead is he got in the break and Roglic and Vingegaard are big reasons that it happened.

They don't need to work for him on climbs. Them riding on the front achieves nothing right now. When there's a point it does then bring it up.

Does add some intrigue to what the issue was yesterday.

I'd guess by the overt emotion at the end that the cause of the jour sans was as much in his head as in his legs. Both need to be ready to race hard and that may be something he needs to work on strengthening.

If so, he's probably not ready for the Tour next year...

I get the feeling that if a large part is mental fragility difficulties, especially whilst balancing the GC tight rope, then Lefevre probably isn't the best person to help with that. Whilst he's historically had a lot of success with classics teams, he's not so when it comes to stage racers.
I wonder if Remco could do better if he moved on. For similar reasons, I'm intrigued to see how Uitdebroeks develops as a Belgian youngster not on a nominally German team
