Although I dont support Scottish Independence ,I do believe there should be something similar that sets out the circumstances for a further referendum in Scotland. I am not sure if Cornwall, IoM or CI would desire such a position. The case for Cornwall seems weaker to me, but you could add in Wales |

Pleasing feel of energy and action about the Government this week. Hopefully they’re moving on from the disappointing start - which may have been a function of coming to power in July, with holidays/parliament shutdown/conferences making tangible action more challenging. Keep this up, avoid any omnishambles in the budget and we’re up and running. |

Yeah in amongst all the other pain and suffering, the plight of the seller of a £65m property at a reduced price is often forgotten.

Pouring billions of pounds (that we supposedly don’t have) into the boondoggle that is CCS wouldn’t have been my priority as an incoming government.

[my take is that perhaps up to 20 very rich people, who may or may not pay the appropriate level of tax here, have elected to move to Monaco or Dubai. To quote Gilbert and Sullivan “…they’ll none of them be missed”] |

I think the sub text of CCS is that we'll shortly be receiving barrels of carbon from abroad to shove underground

the attitude of the Corbynistas makes it feel, as a Starmerite, that nothing this govt does can every be good or right. So it's an emotional reaction to point out that there remain areas where this govt is acting well, and where that definition of acting well happens to correspond with policies and attitudes that Corbyn's acolytes would claim total ownership over. But virtually nothing this govt has done so far has been right. Corbyn should never have led the party (but crikey at that time, they needed a shake, Chuka Omunna and Liz Kendall inspired so little confidence - in retrospect Andy Burnham has impressed but admitted as leader he would have been shackled) because at least as a campaigner on human rights issues he was some some of conscience of the party, which they seem they can do with out. I note Labour has posted a 20 things we've done since getting in: x.com and by number 3, I'm like yeah but did you? (Number 3 is dealt decisively with far right riots - I kinda feel that people power was far more effective) Number 5 is reset relations with Europe, and you kind of realise they are already scraping the barrel. There is some good stuff in there, but surely even Tories would have got around to banning ninja swords? |
