He's said previously that parts of the Constitution relating to voting should be terminated. If he gets in again he will only be leaving the Oval Office feet first.
"In the post, Mr Trump referred to vague allegations of "massive & widespread fraud and deception" and asked whether he should be immediately returned to power.
"A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution. Our great 'Founders' did not want, and would not condone, False & Fraudulent Elections!" he said."

If he wins democracy in America is finished.
If he wins, the election was fair and if he loses it was false and fraudulent.
He is one of the most dangerous people in the world. He has poisoned the electorate in the USA with his lies. Aided and abetted by his sycophantic followers. Appalling behaviour.

He seems to be saying, openly, that if he wins he has no intention of ever standing down

Yebbut he can say all that. It won't be allowed to happen by so many other factors, controls etc. It's fine to worry about it, but you've got to look to the whole picture.
He's a danger in terms of the ideas he's seeded, but he won't be able to implement them. 30 years from now if we can still feel his legacy then that's what I'd be afraid of. The next four years in terms of us democracy, less so.

Who will stop him? The guy literally tried numerous methods to overthrow a fair election and the peaceful transfer of power and so far he has got away with it. The Supreme Court is in his pocket, the Reps are a cowed bunch of gutless creeps and he currently believes "whatever the president does is not illegal".
A cursory glance at 20th century history shows all the precedents you need.

The only reason it won't happen is due to large numbers of people doing everything they can to stop if from happening and no thanks at all to those who just shrug and say "oh never mind it won't happen".

The institutions which will allegedly prevent Trump from effecting his plans will not do so if he has destroyed or utterly changed those institutions.

I'm with JB here, larkim. He has signalled, very clearly, his intention to destroy anything which gets in the way of his power. Unless people take this very seriously, he will get away with it. The MAGAs don't mind, they actually want a dictator. The Supreme Court could and should stop him, but I think we know now that they won't.
