We aren't going to get a UK league and if we did it would likely be dominated by English teams, a bit like the international team would likely be dominated by English players.

A unified national side, would need a unified league. Took Swansea and Cardiff, 30 and 50 years to get back to the top flight. In theory, I can see some rationale for debate. In practice, probably a lopsided disaster, and that's without the national side debate / riots (delete as applicable). Though football is more than about the top flight. |

A uk football team would lead to independence and break the union pretty quickly

Just handed the presidential race to Trump. My immediate reaction was that either he or someone in his "team" had set it up to give him a bump in the polls. It's the sort of stunt that I wouldn't put past the RW loons that purport to be his political party. But you cannot shoot someone just in the ear from distance on purpose. It was a gnats cock hair from killing him. Even he's not that stupid. Some of his entourage might be, and they're not renowned for their strategic planning, or for thinking things through. But someone at the Secret Service is for the high jump for having this happen on their watch. Kudos to the SService detail that got him off the stage. Very brave. Not sure I'd have put myself in harms way for Trump. |

"Trump’s children decry ‘political violence’ after former president shot at Pennsylvania rally" And rightly so, but a bit ironic though. Where were they to "decry" the Jan 6th insurrection? |

From what I'm reading he was hit by a piece of shattered perspex, probably from the autocue. The shooter missed him but an attendee at his rally was shot (not sure if they've survived. Report I read was unclear.) This is the worst possible outcome. This will convince a lot of people that the Democrats are the nutters and get Trump a lot of sympathy votes. He's just won the election. Fucksake. |

Right. Didn't see that. Still a close call. Too close for a set up, IMO. Ricochets can go anywhere. Don't know how the shooter missed a target as big as Trump though. Must have been a shit shot, or a long way away. No irony that the shooter was using an AR15 then? Republicans and their second amendment rights, eh? The right to own and use a machine gun. |
