Really? Maybe some small nugget of hope there, then.

I think her youth works in her favour. Pretty sure I read that a majority of Americans don't want Biden or Trump to be the choice. For obvious reasons, really. She might shift the dial and she will hammer Trump on Roe vs Wade. |

If there was a slam dunk candidate, they'd probably be standing already. I'd be pleasantly surprised if the US voted an Black American/ South Asian American woman in as president. She's already the first on all three as vice president. |

Well, they've already got over one hurdle by electing a black president in 2008, so there's only the woman thing to overcome. But yes, both in one go might be too much.

The gone a bit Trumpy 538 latest poll predicts Biden 271 - Trump 268 on electoral college. He's staying put.

9/1 for Biden to win the next election. Crikey for a man still leading in some polls that isn't bad odds.

I've periodically been looking at the odds on Betfair. He was somewhere between evens and 2-1 the day before the disastrous debate. Was about 4-1 afterwards. But some utterly wild swings since, as high as 20-1 at points including possibly the last 24 hours (the graph doesn't show actual time just progress of the odds). Right now he's 8-1. Harris is now second favourite, first time I've noticed that, but I've only been glancing in and out. Trump's price been fairly consistent or so as a current 60% chance of winning. |

Everything I've heard has Biden in major trouble in the Swing States and even in trouble in some blue states. I think his support in the party is slipping away now and he will go. I'm probably wrong! It's incredible that he is floundering against a man like Trump but that's where the US is these days. |

Biden standing down will take at least 2 things I reckon: convincing him he will lose it (he's not convinced yet) and convincing him that a replacement could win it.
