I'm inclined to believe this chap was acting, the Wetherspoons comment just sounded like a parody or spoof. I don't think Channel 4 would have been involved at all though. Wonder what his motivation was if this is the case - furthering his acting CV? |

Was thinking about tactical voting when out for a walk I can’t and won’t forgive the Lib Dem’s as a party for what they did to the country by enabling austerity However the Lib Dem bloke standing to be MP here is a local councillor, not a carpet bagger, and I’d certainly be happy living in an area with no Tory mp so I am considering voting for him But probably won’t decide for sure until the day |

If he was acting, he was being hired to do so. There's no way he would have known about the 'secret filming' otherwise. That means someone at Channel 4 or within the production company was in on it. I suspect they will look through all this guy's acting credits, which shouldn't take long and look for a common name. |

It's sometimes hard to tell parody from reality. There are plenty of people who get taken in by Rosie Holt and Sir Michael Take on twitter. However the person in question has subsequently been interviewed by the press and apologised for his comments, if he's still just playing a role he's certainly playing a long game. |

I am not sure how anyone could not be at least a little bit suspicious. The only unknown person in the piece happens to be an actor who advertises himself as being experienced in 'rough speaking' and 'secret filming'.
