The voting intentions of drinkers was fun but this poll of ethnicities’ voting intentions has a little more intrigue and intricacy. x.com |

Seems Biden's speech was very defiant, don't see him backing down so it's him vs Trump I reckon unless there is some never before seen trick to depose him.

I know some people really don't trust the betting markets, but it looks like last night's debate has really shifted the prices. The market I can see doesn't show price over specific time, just price development, but looks like Biden was a better than 33% chance to be next president last night, about 18% right now (it was similar earlier so it doesn't seem that defiance has so far changed any thoughts there). |

If the reform bloke is an actor what about the reform staffers saying they’d have paramilitary police, their horrible homophobia and transphobia, saying bring back the noose etc

I have been wanting to call it for Trump for a few days now because his conviction didn't move the polls by anywhere near enough. I mean, come on, how many barrels/convictions do you need to stick in his criminal ass before people repudiate him. But, it is June and a lot could happen innit, so don't be daft, course you can't call it now. But really, after last night there is blood in the water. If they don't get him to step down they are toast. |

I've read both Obama backing Biden, but also Obama the only person who can get Biden to stand aside.

I think Jill Biden is more important than Obama. If she tells him he should step down he will. Otherwise it will take a concerted effort from the party as a whole, including Obama. It sounds like he wants to tough it out but he is going to get scrutinised and attacked relentlessly for the next 4 months. It's not just about last night. I'm betting the polls will shift back towards the orange one, which is an unbelievable thought. He's the contagion in the American soul and they have terrible times ahead. |

Yeah all my optimism is gone, the polls are moving already (but some will be kneejerk reaction that will just bounce back). I heard Gavin Newsom speak with passion and intelligence, get him in now. Just please don't let Trump back in. |

Yep. I was idly wondering what would happen if Reform got a higher % of the vote than Tories and Lib Dems but it only gave them a handful of seats? Not completely inconceivable. Starmdalf would start day one with a Constitutional Conundrum and nobody wants a CC, especially with Farridge doing his rabble-rousing bit. |

I mean, they could argue they should be HM Opposition…
